Responsibilities

  • Use your experience in software development, systems engineering and networking to proactively prevent repeatable issues.

  • Drive initiatives with partner teams to improve the reliability and performance of the infrastructure through improved system design.

  • Drive a culture of intolerance to manual activity which results in a highly automated environment delivering scalable solutions.

  • Provide relief and sustainable resolution to issues within our infrastructure and application stack

  • Drive monitoring and automation initiatives

To be successful in this role you have

  • Deep knowledge of Linux systems including troubleshooting and monitoring.

  • 6+ years’ experience with DevOps automation and agile methodologies.

  • Working knowledge of either of the following DevOps tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins and Spinnaker

  • Coding experience in one or two of the following : JavaScript, Python, Go, Java and Bash

  • Database administration. PostgreSQL(preferred), MySQL, Maria DB, Oracle DB.

  • Web application development and operations experience. Preferably Java EE or Python stack. Have good knowledge of Apache Tomcat, JBoss, Kafka, RMQ, ELK, Nginx, F5, Splunk, Grafana and Prometheus.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Networking services and protocols. DNS, SNMP, HTTPS, TCP/IP and BGP.

  • Experience in events management tools/platforms. E.g., Netcool/OMNIbus, IBM/Tivoli, HP OVO, BMC BEM/TruSight, Moogsoft, Instana, ServiceNow ITOM.

  • Experience developing enterprise-scale automation solutions.

  • Experience working with Container and Container Orchestration Platforms (Docker Swarm, Apache Mesos, Kubernetes).

  • Have strong knowledge and hands-on experience with workflow orchestration tools, such as ServiceNow Workflow, HP OO, Rundeck, Apache Airflow, Tidal and BMC Atrium Orchestrator.

  • Exposure to AI/ML

  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience developing on the ServiceNow Platform

  • Industry certification, such as ITIL, CCSP, COBIT, Linux/Unix certification, Certified PostgreSQL DBA(CPSDBA), ServiceNow certification.
